Who we are and what we do
We are an independent, fee only investment advisor. As a Registered Investment Advisory in Oregon, we are not allowed to accept fees or funds from any other source than our client fees. Not mutual fund trailers, not commissions, nothing. We like this because we are 100% aligned with our clients. We provide financial planning, investing and diversification strategies that build wealth over time.
How we help
Not every investor fits neatly into a 60/40 portfolio. In fact, most don't. We have aggressive, moderate and conservative portfolios but our favorite portfolio is one customized for your individual needs. We start with a financial review and plan then we make a plan together and we implement the plan through the various markets. If you are going to pay someone to manage your wealth, they should build a custom portfolio for you. Not fit you into their model. In 2009 we left a large financial services firm to provide more personalized services to investors. We established Optimum Capital Strategies, LLC. and have been helping clients build their financial wealth every since thru bear and bull market cycles. From sophisticated accredited investors that are involved in complex investment strategies to the young adult just getting started with investments. There is a place for you at OCS.

At OCS we are not purist but pragmatic investors. We like to think of our investment strategies as an "all of the above" approach. In other words, if it works, lets do it. We believe buy and hold is the main way to build lasting wealth but we recognize that when valuations become stretched and the growth is not there it makes sense to raise some cash but we are not market timers. We let valuation drive our exposure. We believe in buying stocks at reasonable prices but we will often use put options to work ourselves into a stock we like but is a little higher than we would like to buy it at. Likewise, if we are approaching the long term capital gains threshold but the valuations are getting rich, we will sell a covered call. If it works we do it.
